The Health and Wellness Office is dedicated to supporting the well-being of students, faculty, and staff. We provide health consultations, health exams, first aid for injuries and illnesses, and referrals to healthcare facilities. Additionally, we offer important health updates, information on infectious diseases, and wellness tips. If you are feeling unwell or have any health concerns, we encourage you to visit our office. We are here to support your health and well-being, helping you lead a balanced and healthy life.
📍Health Promotion and Well-Being
Our services focus on health promotion and creating a culture of well-being. We aim to empower you with the knowledge to understand your health, prevent illnesses, and make informed decisions to enhance your quality of life. Through resources, guidance, and ongoing support, we are committed to improving both your physical and mental health during your time at IUJ.
📍Annual Health Checkups
Annual health checkups are essential for students to monitor and maintain their health. These checkups are required by the School Health and Safety Act and provide crucial insights for promoting overall well-being. Health checkups take place in April and October, and each student is eligible for one checkup per year. We recommend the fall term of your first year at IUJ as a propriety.

Monthly consultations with the school doctor are available to address both physical and mental health needs. To schedule a session, please watch for announcements 5 days in advance of the doctor’s scheduled visit.
📍Clarification Regarding Hospital Escort Services
We generally do not provide hospital escort services, but in certain situations, exceptions may be made. Please keep in mind that IUJ is unable to assist with the health needs or hospital visits of your family members. Since your family members are considered your dependents, you will need to help them navigate any language barriers they may face when visiting clinics or hospitals in Japan.
