IUJ staff are standing by to help you with your application to any of the IUJ’s Master’s level programs all offered in English.

Remember to complete the application form online and mail all other necessary documents by the deadline. Those items are:

O GMAT Score Report sent directly from the Pearson VUE (MBA applicants only).  GRE score or IUJ administered Math Score may be substituted for the GMAT for specific candidates.  Ask the Admissions Team
O TOEFL/IELTS Score Report sent directly from the ETS/the British Council (or an IELTS test center) or TOEIC score
O Application Fee Form and Fee

O IUJ Scholarship Application

  1. Announcement of Result
    Admission results are posted at www0.iuj.ac.jp/admis/online/. You are required to login the online application, and then you can see whether or not you have successfully passed the screening process. The result will also be mailed to you along with the necessary documents to be filled in and returned to IUJ. A notice of scholarship allocation results will be enclosed as well if you applied for a scholarship.
  2. Admission procedures
    Follow the guidelines of admission procedures which are mailed to you. You will need to pay the admission fee and return the materials below by the designated deadline:

    1. A completed medical examination form
    2. A certificate of graduation from an undergraduate program (BA, BS, BEng, etc.) and transcript ONLY IF you have not yet graduate at the time of application.
    3. An application form for certificate of eligibility (student visa application)
    4. An application form for Intensive Japanese Language Program if desired.
    5. An application form for Intensive English Program if desired.
  3. A Letter of Admission
    If you complete the admission procedures above, a Letter of Admission will be issued and mailed to you along with an application form for opening a local bank account. You are required to fill in the form and mail it back to us. The information on computer environment at IUJ and pre-arrival/arrival guide will be sent as well. The pre-arrival/arrival guide contains a lot of valuable information. Please read it very carefully.
  4. Visa
    In the middle of August, you will receive a certificate of eligibility if you send back the application form for that certificate by the due date. You are to apply for a student visa at the nearest Japanese embassy/consulate in your place in person or by mail with the certificate.
  5. Arrival Dates to IUJ
    1.  Flight reservation (for those not participating in a summer program)
      In general, incoming students are able to check in to the IUJ dorms in the middle of September. See theSeptember Calendar for specific dates for each academic year. (Please note, the academic year starts September 1, but classes start much later: usually the last Monday of September or first Monday of October. Orientation runs the last 2 weeks of September. But be sure to check the calendar for that year’s plan.)
  6. Dorm room information
    You will be informed your dorm room number and phone number some time in late August.
  7. Shipping
    Follow the pre-arrival/arrival guide. Remember to write your name, dorm room number and phone number on all shipping forms, and have it as a tag on your luggage as well..
    You may send your luggage to IUJ ahead of your arrival THIS TIME ONLY. This is a service reserved only for first-time arrivers.
  8. Departure for Japan
    Say “See you” to your family and friends and get on board a plane. From the airports in Japan to IUJ, follow the information in the Info Pack (sent to all those admitted, or downloadable from the OSS website.
