MBA Program

“I live two steps away from Myanmar and three steps away from the Philippines. When I open the door to my dorm room and take two more steps I am in Uzbekistan. “

– Why did you choose IUJ?

I wanted to study in Japan because it was my dream. So when I came across IUJ, I learned that IUJ has a really strong faculty and is one of the few universities in Japan that operates entirely in English. IUJ is not like other universities in Japan. It is the place where the world gathers. There are students from more than 60 countries. Its strong alumni association has people from all over the world. But mostly my main concerns were the curriculum and teaching method.

– What are the features of the program you attend?

I took 5 courses in the fall term. Each course has its unique method of learning. Some have final exams where others have only presentations and reports. In the class we use real world case studies and always have interactive sessions. There is group work as well as individual assignments. I am also taking a Japanese language class.

– How is the program?

The program is very well structured and the core courses are different from each other but connected in a way that helps us specialize in the second year. IUJ provides several additional courses to reach the necessary level before starting the program. What I really like about the program is that everything we learn here is completely updated. Even the examples professors use in class utilize real data or are cases from the real business world. There are various elective courses that we can choose and we can schedule our own timetable for the semester.

– How is your life at IUJ?

Let me say this: I live two steps away from Myanmar and three steps away from the Philippines. When I open the door to my dorm room and take two more steps I am in Uzbekistan. I have my lunch South Asian style with people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. I get chances to cook with friends from Nigeria, Mongolia, Vietnam and eat their delicious food. I do presentations with people from Italy, France, Malaysia, Tajikistan and many more. I learn Japanese with my Japanese friends and party on the weekend with people from more than 60 countries.

– What is your career path after graduation?

I am interested in becoming an entrepreneur. Here at IUJ, there is a lot of support from the faculty as well as many subjects related to my field so I can pave my way to that dream. I want to gain some experience in Japan and start my own business in my country. My country needs people to rebuild its former glory. I am confident that the education and exposure I will get from IUJ will help me reach my goals.

– What scholarship are you receiving?

I have received a great MEXT scholarship, granted through a university recommendation. I am really grateful to IUJ for providing me this golden opportunity as I can carry on my education smoothly without any obstacles. All my fees and living expenses are covered by the scholarship. Therefore, I can focus more on my academics while enjoying life at this great institution.

– Please give a message or advice to future IUJ students.
