IUJ held its 2019 New Student Welcome Day

IUJ had the pleasure of officially introducing 160 new students from 39 countries to the campus at the annual Welcome Day event on Friday September 27. Students were introduced one by one according to where they were from.

President Itami welcomed the students to the IUJ family and talked about what to expect from studying here. It’s going to be a unique opportunity to experience not only Japanese culture but also to have multicultural interactions among peers.

Sponsors and special guests from business leaders to heads of local community groups were also introduced to students. We would like to thank all of them for joining us on Welcome Day.  IUJ is grateful for their ongoing support.

Students also had a chance to hear from the Dean of International Relations, Maung Aung Myoe, the Dean of International Management, Wenkai Li and the Director of Center for Language Education and Research (CLEAR), Akihiro Takeuchi. They introduced the other faculty members that our students will be studying under, and their various areas of expertise.

After the formal speeches and introductions, some food and drinks were served. Students had some time to mingle with guests, professors and fellow students.  A lot of photos were taken and shared. Everyone looked like they were having fun meeting new people.

We wish our new students all the best for their time here at IUJ. As President Itami said “Work hard, play hard”, we hope that you make the most of your time here. We are here to support you when you need it. We have no doubt that this year’s new students will apply what they learn here at IUJ wherever they go next.
