Kiyo Ogushi (MBA Class of 1992), President and CEO of Fuji Xerox Learning Institute, Honored as 2019 AACSB Influential Leader
Fourth annual initiative recognizes 33 business school graduates creating lasting impact in the world.
[Minami Uonuma, Niigata] (February 5, 2019)— The International University of Japan announces that Ms. Kiyo Ogushi (Class of 1992) is one of 33 business school graduates honored by AACSB International (AACSB)—the world’s largest business education alliance—as the 2019 Class of Influential Leaders. The annual challenge recognizes notable alumni from AACSB-accredited schools whose inspiring work serves as a model for the next generation of business leaders.
Ms. Ogushi, nominated by IUJ’s Graduate School of International Management, currently serves as President and CEO of Fuji Xerox Learning Institute. She has 24 years of experience in leadership and organizational development, change management initiatives, and talent development. Ogushi’s educational and training consulting expertise has touched many Japanese corporate leaders, helping them to reach global standards of management and leadership skills. Similarly, she is a role model for the next generation of coaches and trainers, helping their careers to flourish. Also, as a president and CEO of a company in Japan, she is able to inspire other Japanese female staff to become leaders in their fields.
Her work lives on through the various programs being implemented by the next group of coaches whom she identifies and inspires enabling their continuous development

IUJ is holding an information session in Tokyo on Saturday, April 6
Living in Japan right now, and looking to further your education? The International University of Japan is holding an information session in Tokyo on Saturday, April 6th from 2pm until 4pm, to give prospective students insight into what the school has to offer.
IUJ was established in 1982 as the first English-language graduate school in Japan. Currently, 360 students from 60 countries undertake studies at the university, with over 4,300 additional alumni hailing from a total of 129 countries. It truly lives up to being the university Where the World Gathers. IUJ is a school that is continually growing – not just by the number of countries that students hail from, but in its international standing. The Graduate School of International Management proudly obtained accreditation from AACSB in February this year, and the University’s PhD program was inaugurated in 2015 with the number of doctoral candidates increasing annually. This information session is applicable to those interested in applying to IUJ for the 2019 academic year or in the near future. IUJ 2nd year student Sohag Milon won first place in FALIA’s Essay Competition
IUJ 2nd year IDP student Sohag Milon from Bangladesh recently won first place in FALIA’s Annual Essay Competition. FALIA (The Foundation for the Advancement of Life & Insurance Around the world) was established in 1962, and the foundation is supported by the Dai-Ichi Life Insurance Company, one of Japan’s longest-standing insurance providers.
FALIA’s essay competition has been running since 2014, and allows international undergraduate or graduate students in Japan the opportunity to submit a piece on any topic pertaining to life insurance. Essays can be submitted to the competition in either English or Japanese.
Milon’s winning essay focused on an analysis of the life insurance market in his native Bangladesh, and a proposal on how Japanese life insurance companies could succeed if they entered into the market there.
This year’s judging panel comprised of Professor Takau Yoneyama from Tokyo Keizai University, Professor Haruko Amano from Japan Women’s University, Associate Professor Jin Abe from Hitotsubashi University, and Professor Emeritus Soichiro Moridaira from Keio University.
The award ceremony was held on January 18th, and Milon is pictured third from the left, alongside the judging panel and Director, International Development Program (IDP) of IUJ, Prof Yusuke Jinnai, on the far right.
