Status of Residence Designated Activities

For all applicants

Follow the instructions below to apply for a recommendation letter, which is required as part of the submission for a visa change.

We generally support visa changes for students who meet all the requirements.

However, we will not consider your request in the following cases:

  • Applications submitted after the deadline
  • Report on job hunting or applying for a short period of time
  • Requests for re-issuing or re-sending a recommendation letter due to loss or missing the visa expiration date

For those who plan to work as a part-time worker after graduation

To work part-time (up to 28 hours per week), you must have a Designated Activities visa. It is illegal to work part-time on a Student visa after graduation—even if you have a valid work permit—because you are no longer classified as a student.
