【Acknowledgments】Thank You for The Support

International University of Japan received a donation of masks from IRIS OHYAMA Inc. to help stop any potential spread of the Novel Coronavirus-infected Pneumonia. We would like to express our deep appreciation for their support. One donated box of 100 adult masks will be used effectively to prevent infectious diseases among students from all over the world studying on the campus. At this time, there are no cases of seasonal flu or the COVID-19 at IUJ.

Winter Holidays

IUJ Administration Offices will be closed during the following winter holiday period. Thursday 26  December 2019 – Sunday 5 January 2020 Staff members are not available during the period to respond to any phone calls and e-mails. We will start regular office hours on Monday 6 January 2020. Your understanding and cooperation would be highly appreciated.  

Professor Emeritus Ippei Yamazawa, former IUJ President, passed away

Professor Emeritus Ippei Yamazawa, former IUJ President, passed away on November 16, 2018 at the age of 81. The funeral ceremony was held on November 20 only by his family and relatives. Late Professor Yamazawa served for various positions such as Full-Professor at Hitotsubashi University and Waseda University and Director of Institute of Developing Economies. He assumed the position of IUJ President for 3 years and 3 months, during September 2003 and December 2006. One of his achievements is IUJ’s first Self Evaluation Report complied comprehensively in 2006. He also taught some classes such as East Asian Economy in IUJ for many international students. Cool Biz @IUJ

IUJ shall launch a “Cool Biz” period during which faculty and staff members are encouraged to dress casually (no jacket and no necktie in principle) as follows. From May 18, 2015 to September 30, 2015 “Cool Biz” is a national campaign in Japan conducted recent years during summer. The campaign aims at saving energy consumption in workplace without depending too much on air conditioning, and thereby contributing to reducing global warming.Your understanding (including visitors to IUJ) and cooperation on this matter would be appreciated.
