On January 11 (Saturday), our school held a “Graduates Networking Event” for students engaged in job hunting. The event featured two alumni, who graduated in 2023 and are now employed at Japanese companies both within and outside the prefecture, as guest speakers. Members of both graduate student councils served as moderators, and the event included a panel discussion and informal conversations with the alumni.
During the event, participants received valuable advice on acquiring Japanese language skills, understanding different cultures, adapting to the Japanese work environment, and balancing academics with job hunting. The alumni shared both their success stories and challenges faced during their job search, providing concrete insights on how international students can overcome the difficulties they may encounter. Many questions were asked by the participants.
Additionally, a video message from the alumni association was shared, offering advice and encouraging messages about building networks with companies and alumni, as well as enhancing understanding of the Japanese language and culture.
Moving forward, we will continue to support students’ job-hunting efforts through such networking events and provide more opportunities for their professional growth.
