IUJ Student Wins First Prize in FALIA Essay Competition 2025
International University of Japan (IUJ) is proud to announce that Ms. Lahiru Nirasha Tharamasinghe, a second-year student in the Graduate School of International Management (GSIM), has been awarded First Prize in the prestigious FALIA Essay Competition 2025.
Her essay, “Bridging the Protection Gap: Enhancing Life Insurance Accessibility and Inclusion for Individuals with Congenital Disabilities in Sri Lanka,” was commended for its insightful analysis and innovative policy recommendations. The work highlights critical challenges in the life insurance sector and proposes practical solutions to improve accessibility and inclusion for individuals with congenital disabilities.
As part of this honor, Ms. Tharamasinghe has been invited to attend the Awards Ceremony in Tokyo on January 30, 2026, where her achievement will be formally recognized.
This accomplishment not only reflects Ms. Tharamasinghe’s academic excellence and commitment to social impact but also underscores IUJ’s mission to nurture globally minded leaders who address pressing issues with creativity and rigor.
