International University of Japan (IUJ) held a seminar entitled “Japanese Job-Hunting System and How You Work” for international students on Friday, October 9, 2026. Led by AEON Financial Service Co., Ltd., the seminar was conducted in English and provided students with an overview of the Japanese job-hunting system and essential knowledge for working in Japanese companies.

The seminar covered recruitment schedules and selection processes in Japan, including aptitude tests such as the SPI and job interviews, as well as how to use job search and career support services. Students also learned about career development after joining a company, including promotion opportunities, performance evaluation systems, and compensation structures.

In addition, the seminar explored Japanese corporate culture and communication styles, including the concepts of high-context and low-context communication, as well as the mindset expected in the Japanese workplace. Students also gained a better understanding of essential systems and arrangements for working and living in Japan, including the differences between gross and net salary, the pension and health insurance systems, and income tax.

The seminar provided international students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of job hunting in Japan, learn about the culture and systems of Japanese workplaces, and consider their career development after entering the workforce.

IUJ continues to provide a range of career support services to help international students acquire the knowledge necessary for job hunting in Japan and consider their future career paths.
