Student Visa Info
If you are a non-Japanese national planning to enroll at IUJ from overseas, you must have a valid passport and obtain the appropriate immigration authorization to study in Japan.
Passport
You are responsible for obtaining a valid passport. Please ensure that your passport meets the requirements for your visa application and travel to Japan. If necessary, renew your passport before beginning the immigration procedures.
Status of Residence and Student Visa
To enroll at IUJ and study in Japan, you will generally need a “Student” status of residence.
IUJ will apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) on behalf of incoming students who require one. You will need to submit the required documents and information to IUJ in accordance with the instructions provided.
Once your CoE has been issued, you must apply for a student visa at a Japanese embassy or consulate in your country or place of residence before traveling to Japan. Please allow sufficient time to complete all required procedures before your planned arrival in Japan.
