Audrey Tang Appointed GLOCOM Visiting Professor

Audrey Tang, internationally recognized for her leadership in digital democracy and civic technology, is appointed June 1, 2026, Visiting Professor with the Center for Global Communications (GLOCOM) at the International University of Japan (IUJ).

Tang is widely known for her pioneering work in open government, citizen participation, digital innovation and AI governance. As Taiwan's first Digital Minister and later the inaugural Minister of Digital Affairs (moda), she played a key role in advancing transparency, public engagement and the responsible use of digital technologies in government.

Currently Taiwan's Cyber Ambassador, Tang continues deepening international dialogue on Civic AI, democratic innovation and digital transformation through her global engagements.

While Visiting Professor, Tang will engage with researchers, students and practitioners through lectures, seminars, public events and collaborative research initiatives. Her participation is set to strengthen GLOCOM's international network and contribute to detailed discussions on digital society, democratic governance, emerging technologies and ways to free the future — together.

GLOCOM and IUJ look forward to cooperating closely with Tang in advancing research, education and public dialogue aimed at building a more inclusive, prosperous, sustainable and transparent digital environment for the 21st century and beyond.
