On May 28, 2026, the IUJ Research Institute hosted a Book Publishing Workshop for Social Scientists in collaboration with Springer Nature. Approximately 15 participants, including IUJ faculty members and Ph.D. students, attended the event.

The workshop was led by Mr. William Achauer (Editorial Director, Springer/Palgrave Macmillan, Springer Nature Singapore) and Ms. Juno Kawakami (Senior Editor, Springer Nature Japan). They provided an overview of academic book publishing, including monographs, textbooks, proceedings, handbooks, and Open Access publishing.
The event also included a Q&A session and individual consultations, giving participants an opportunity to discuss publication ideas and receive advice directly from Springer editors.
