Family Consideration

If you are considering bringing your family to Japan during your studies, please read the Family Guide carefully in advance. This will help you make an informed decision. If you decide to bring your family, we will share a recommended timeline with you (this does not apply to Japanese nationals or JISR students).

Recommended Timing for Bringing Family Members

The first two academic terms at IUJ are very demanding. Students are encouraged to focus on their studies, adjust to life at IUJ and in Japan, experience the winter term, and build friendships and professional networks before bringing family members.

After this adjustment period, family members can join more smoothly and enjoy their time in Japan.

The recommended timing is outlined below to support academic success and a positive family experience.
