Discovering My Passion for Marketing

Kakeru Oikawa

Marketing operation professional, American Express International Incorporated

IUJ was a place full of discovery and self-improvement. It's where I deepened my passion for marketing and widened my business capabilities. Initially, all the different courses (e.g., Accounting, Operations Management, Strategic Management, etc.) seemed so distant that they were unrelated. However, as I progressed, I started to notice the interconnectivity and essentiality of all those courses. I specialized in marketing for a number of reasons. To raise one, marketing is all about data and research, which makes it exciting to explore, finding new opportunities where it may not be obvious. IUJ is where I learned that it’s all about the customer.
