Exchange Program Opportunities
Expand Your World — One Term Abroad
At IUJ, we believe that stepping outside your comfort zone is key to becoming a truly global leader. As part of this vision, GSIM offers a dynamic Exchange Program that allows students to study abroad for one academic term at one of 30+ prestigious partner institutions across Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa.
This is more than just studying at another university — it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture, experience new teaching methods, and gain fresh perspectives on global business practices. You’ll expand your network, sharpen your adaptability, and return with new insights that will set you apart in your future career.
When and How It Works

Kazuhiro Iwayama (Japan)
Studied at IESE Business School, Spain
Studying abroad at IESE Business School in Barcelona was an unforgettable experience. The city’s amazing climate and vibrant atmosphere created the perfect environment for learning and personal growth. It was a rare opportunity to immerse myself in a completely different culture and to view the world through a new lens. As students, we should take advantage of such moments to step outside our comfort zones and embrace new challenges. This experience allowed me to build meaningful connections, gain fresh insights, and grow in confidence. I encourage you to make the most of this incredible journey ahead.

Riki Sasaki(Japan)
Studied at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management – Campus Düsseldorf, Germany
I spent three months at WHU in Düsseldorf, Germany. The city’s charming medieval atmosphere, along with events like Oktoberfest and Christmas markets, made daily life exciting. In class, I had insightful discussions with peers who had diverse experiences in the mature business environments of Germany and Europe. Supported by kind and engaging professors, I took courses such as Data Management and Entrepreneurship. This exchange deepened what I had learned at IUJ and broadened my global perspective. It was truly a valuable and inspiring experience that I will carry forward in both my academic and professional journey.

Shiho Shigemashi(Japan)
Studied at University of St. Gallen, Switzerland
I had an amazing experience at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. I strongly recommend that you choose the University of St. Gallen if you are looking for a place not only to study, but also to enjoy life in a calm and beautiful nature. There were a variety of courses open for exchange students where you can gain new insights from lectures and group discussions with international students, mainly from Europe. You can always reach out to the beautiful green mountains where cows and horses are taking naps, shiny lakes, and historical and cultural buildings. On the other hand, there were also many challenges that I had to overcome during this exchange program, which helped me to grow my academic skills and as a person. I hope you will take this opportunity to meet diverse people and cultures, gain new insights, and life-changing experience.

Maria Montagut (Spain)
Studied at SDA Bocconi School of Management, Italy
Since I decided to get a Finance specialization, doing my exchange at SDA Bocconi was the right choice as it is well known for its strength in Finance courses. In addition, I registered for an Italian language course. University students follow the very popular habit in Milan of going for aperitivi (drinks and food buffet), which is a good chance to build a network. Moreover, Milan is a very comfortable city to live in as they can speak English. Lastly, I wish you could enjoy the delicious Italian cuisine with me!

Edoardo Pellegrini
SDA Bocconi school of management
My exchange at IUJ was truly enriching. Academically, it offered a unique perspective on Japanese history, management style and HR practices, which was such an interesting comparison with the mainly Western approach taught at my home university. Learning about Japan’s distinctive business culture broadened my understanding of global management styles.
Equally impactful was IUJ’s incredibly diverse community—students from all over the world sharing their cultures, ideas, and experiences. This blend of change in perspective and cultural immersion made cherish my time at IUJ, and I highly recommend it to future exchange students.

Dean Ben-Benjamin
Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, USA
My favorite aspects studying at IUJ are the opportunity to form close friendships in a warm international community, learn about their cultures, and explore Japan. IUJ is one of few places in the world where this is possible. I truly cherish my time in IUJ.
Altaaf Suleman
University of Pretoria – GIBS, South Africa
IUJ was not just an academic exchange it was a fullvon cultural, intellectual, and caffeine fuelled adventure. I found myself in classrooms where 18 nationalities challenged my thinking, broadened my lens, and occasionally roasted each other (constructively, of course). Outside class, it was deep chats, spontaneous laughs, and the kind of human connections you can not manufacture. What surprised me most? How quickly strangers became friends, and how a rural campus in Japan could feel so much like home. I came to explore new ideas and left knowing never to be late for the IUJ bus….Ever.
