The concept of IUJ originated in the late 1970s with strong support from leaders in Japan’s business and academic communities, and the University was established as a graduate-level university dedicated to developing highly skilled professionals capable of active engagement in the global arena.

Since its founding, IUJ has continuously developed and refined its educational and research frameworks—centered on International Relations and International Management—by adapting its programs, establishing research institutes, and reorganizing academic structures, reflecting an ongoing evolution closely aligned with the global community.
