On Friday, August 28, 2026, International University of Japan (IUJ) held a degree awarding ceremony for students completing the one-year programs at the MLIC Hall.
The ceremony began with opening remarks, followed by a congratulatory address from President Kikkawa. In his address, President Kikkawa celebrated the students’ successful completion of their programs and also honored the achievements of Professor Jinnai, who recently passed away.
Next, Vice President and GSIR Dean Kato congratulated the graduates, focusing on three key points: congratulations, achievement and confidence, and Japan and the world.
GSIM Dean Lee also delivered a congratulatory address. In his speech, he discussed the growing influence of AI and noted that fields such as Marketing, Finance, and Accounting will be significantly affected as we enter an era of increasing AI adoption.
Diplomas were then presented to each graduating student, followed by the presentation of special certificates recognizing outstanding achievements.
During the student representatives’ speeches, GSIR graduate Hiroko Katsu reflected on her year at IUJ. Although the academic journey was challenging at times, she described the year as a fulfilling experience, during which she learned and grew together with her classmates through friendly competition and mutual encouragement. She became emotional while reflecting on her experiences and the time she shared with her peers.
Representing the GSIM graduates, Hidetoshi Horinouchi looked back on the many discussions he had with classmates from diverse countries and backgrounds throughout the year. He concluded his speech with a traditional Japanese San-San-Nana-Byoshi cheer, bringing a lively close to the students’ remarks.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo session, capturing a memorable moment for the graduates and faculty members as the students marked the completion of their one-year journey at IUJ.
We sincerely congratulate all of the graduates and wish them every success as they take the knowledge, experiences, and connections gained at IUJ into their next chapter.
