IMBA Launches "Executive Conversations" to Connect Students with Business Leaders

The Intensive MBA (IMBA) Program at the International University of Japan (IUJ) has launched a new initiative, Executive Conversations, designed to provide students with opportunities to engage directly with experienced business leaders and gain insights beyond the classroom.

The series brings executive-level speakers to IUJ to share their professional experiences, leadership perspectives, and decision-making processes with IMBA students and Japanese company-sponsored students. Conducted in an informal and interactive setting, the sessions encourage open dialogue, allowing students to ask questions and exchange ideas with accomplished executives.

The series featured three distinguished speakers:

  • Mr. Toshiya Sano, Assistant to the IUJ Chairperson and former Marubeni branch manager in Tel Aviv-Yafo, shared insights from his extensive international business experience and leadership across diverse cultural environments.
  • Mr. Kensuke Abe, a researcher at the Marubeni Research Institute with extensive experience in international business and economic research, delivered a session titled "Sogo Shosha: The Most Misunderstood Business Model in the World." introducing students to the unique role and global significance of Japanese general trading companies.
  • Dr. Jun Murai, former President and CEO of Tokyu Hotels & Resorts, discussed leadership, management, and the hospitality industry's evolving business landscape.

Through these conversations, students were able to gain practical perspectives that complement their academic studies while engaging in meaningful discussions with experienced executives.

As part of IUJ's commitment to experiential learning, Executive Conversations will continue to provide IMBA students with valuable opportunities to connect with industry leaders and develop a deeper understanding of global business in practice.
