1. Qualification of applicants

    1. IUJ alumnus
    2. Faculty/staff family members over 18 years old*
    3. IUJ Students’ family members over 18 years old*
    4. Others: Honorary member recommended by the MLIC director such as an outsider who desires to use the library for his or her project, and is guaranteed by IUJ faculty.

*B) and C) immediate family members who live with family

2. Application and Registration

  1. Identification : ID card, driver’s license, passport and insurance card
  2. Current one self-photo : for attachment to the library card, 3.0 cm X 2.4 cm size
  3. Fee : 2,000 yen per year
  4. Guarantor: The member must have a guarantor who is currently on the IUJ faculty, staff, or student and has signed the registration form. The library will contact the guarantor by email and make a card after approval.
    • Please visit the circulation counter with items 1)~4).
    • Library card is effective for 1 year
    • Any change in address or other items on the registration form should be reported immediately to the circulation desk.
    • Please return the MLIC member’s card after expiration.
    • Acceptance of applications : Bring completed applications to the Circulation Desk between 8:30~17:00(Mon.- Fri.).

3. Library Use – Rules

  1. Number of items per loan period: 6 items
    Length of loan period: 2 weeks
  2. The user must show his or her MLIC member’s card at the circulation desk each time he or she checks out a book(books). Books on reserve may not be checked out, therefore if you have previously checked out a book that has changed status (is now a reserve book) you will be contacted to return it immediately.
  3. Renewal of books is possible by bringing the book(s) with MLIC member’s card to the circulation desk, provided that no one else has requested the book(s). Renewal over the phone is unacceptable.
  4. Fines: 50 yen per day for each item that is overdue. You must pay the fine in cash. If you refuse to pay your fine, your guarantor will be contacted and required to incur the debt.
  5. Loss of Materials: For any reason, you are required to pay under the MLIC rule. Please refer to rules documentation you receive.
