-Information for MBA Students -

 

All 2nd year MBA students must register for one of the PLATFORM Seminars

(or Advanced seminar) to earn 1 credit in each term for three terms. (List of PLATFORMs) 

 

Students can register for PLATFORM Seminars during the course registration

period in each term. 

 

Students are expected to continuously register for PLATFORM Seminars offered in

the same PLATFORM sequence (PLATFORM Seminar I, II, III) and earn 3 credits

in total during the 2nd year.  

 

Advanced Seminars are offered in the same manner as PLATFORM Seminars: Advanced

Seminar I (Fall), II (Winter) and III (Spring).

 

Students are required to submit the Form 1 on which they are required to indicate the

selected track (either PLATFORM Seminar or Advanced Seminar) and the names of

professors who can be their academic supervisor and tentative research topics to OAA

by the designated submission deadline.     

 

Deanfs Office will review the Form 1, taking various factors into consideration, and announce

the pairing of students and their supervisors in early June.

 

Students are expected to communicate with their assigned supervisors as soon as possible and

submit Form 2 on which they are required to indicate their decision of supervisors and provide

their research titles.  The Form 2 must be submitted with their supervisorsf signature to OAA

by the designated submission deadline. 

 

Students who choose the PLATFORM Seminar track must complete their graduation research

report individually or in a group in the PLATFORM Seminar III on the basis of their term papers

written in the earlier PLATFORM Seminars, and present them to their supervisors, GSIM

faculty members, its students and other members of IUJ if necessary.  Grade for the research

report must be B+ or above for graduation.

 

<Special note for students who go on exchange>

If you choose the PLATFORM Seminar track in June of the first year, please be sure to talk

with the PLATFORM Coordinator before you leave the IUJ campus and make necessary

arrangements with him so that you can conduct your research during your absent from IUJ

and can join the PLATFORM Seminar II in the winter term.  You can register both PLATFORM

Seminars I and 2 during the course registration period for the Winter term.
