Why GSIM?

Global Ranking

In the prestigious Economist Intelligence Unit’s “Top-100 Business Schools of the World” rankings, IUJ is the only Business School in Japan to make the cut for more than 10 years.

Accreditation

GSIM has obtained accreditation from AACSB International, a “hallmark of excellence” in business education, and synonymous with the highest standards of quality. GSIM-IUJ is one of the four AACSB accredited universities in Japan up to date, and the first AACSB accredited English-medium school in Japan.

Partnerships with Top Business Schools

GSIM’s student exchange programs with many top business schools worldwide (Tuck, Kenan-Flagler, Schulich, EM Lyon, ESADE, IESE, HKUST,
NUS, etc.) provide our students with extra overseas study experiences. Our students also have the opportunities to interact with students from top business schools on campus.

Japan Focus

While IUJ’s main focus is global education, as a university located in Japan, we want to add Japan focus to our education by providing many courses in which students can learn about Japan. Japan-Global Development Program (JGDP) with 16 courses was created for that purpose. Students can join this program or after joining other programs can obtain Japan Focus Certificate by taking four JGDP courses.

We have strong connection with Japanese government and industries and have many interactions with them in our education. This is our additional Japan focus.

Many of my friends ask why I decided to do my Master’s at IUJ. I always tell them that there are a lot of things at IUJ that you cannot discover at other universities. IUJ is an international mini-country, which helps you learn in a completely different atmosphere.

In classes we get guest speakers who explain current operations and processes within their companies. The professors here are very kind and friendly. During classes students do not feel pressured, and it is actually quite pleasurable…

In order to be functional in a global business environment, true communication skills, respect and understanding of other cultures, and fairness are the three important capabilities needed. The IUJ education and experience helped me to develop those skills. I also gained a bird’s eye-view to oversee and grasp the overall business operations, which is an essential quality of a manager.
