Each generation
faces different global challenges – in the time of our
grandparents, they were world wars and in the time of our
parents, they were cold war: nuclear deterrence balance
of power and the Berlin wall. What are the challenges
that our generation will face? What are the challenges
that the generation of our children will face? The world
is more complex than before: what takes places overseas
often affects our local life and what is decided at the
international conference often poses business risk and
opportunity for corporate manager.
In our class, we
will first explore what may come in the foreseen future
–30 years from now. An example is the world population
projected to reach 9 billion by 2040. If we think that
this projection may come true, what business area is to
explore now that may survive in the growing trend of
population? What types of business products we should
develop now? What specific business decisions do we need
to make now? I look forward to exploring these questions
with you in our class. |
