IUJ turned 30 in May 2012. This could not have happened without major support from the Japanese industrial, financial, and educational communities and from the local community in Niigata prefecture. To express our sincere appreciation to all, IUJ will co-host a photo exhibition with Minami Uonuma City:
Period: September 1 (Sat) through 11 (Tue) Venue: Ikeda Art Museum (Urasa, Minami Uonuma-shi: in the Yairo-no-Mori Park) Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm (The doors will open at 10 am on Sept 1, and will close at 3pm on Sept 11. The Museum will be closed on Sept 5.)
Co-hosts: IUJ and Minami Uonuma City
Details:
Part I: "Land on My Finger"
This is a very unique photo exhibition with the theme "in harmony with nature." The exhibition displays photos of insects, especially butterflies, landing on the fingertip of the photographer, Mr. Takanobu Kamiya, IR Class of 1987. Mr. Kamiya, an insect lover since childhood, found a way to appreciate the beauty of insects without killing them to collect samples; taking their photos. Also as a specialist of world heritage, he has travelled around the world to take insect photos with world heritage sites in the background. Come and see the miracle moments of his telepathic communication with our little friends.
Part II: "IUJ Gallery"
The "IUJ Gallery" exhibits 30+ panels of photos narrating the 30-year history of IUJ. It is our hope to share IUJ's growth and development with visitors.
* Mr. Kamiya will hold a seminar and photo-shoot session with visitors on September 1 from 10:30am.
* The entrance fee for citizens of Minami Uonuma City: free
