IUJ awarded the special cheering prize of the Minami Uonuma Gourmet marathon

The Minami Uonuma Gourmet Marathon was held in Minami Uonuma City on June 14th. IUJ was the 7th water station of the marathon, and many members of the IUJ community came out to cheer the runners, who included IUJ’s own Vice President Shinoda Tomohito , Assistant Professor Jinnai Yuusuke, and several university staff. One of the IUJ staff was interviewed by FM Yukiguni, and the interview was broadcasted. IUJ won a special prize for cheering, which Secretary General Ohno Tomokazu and many IUJ students received at Yairo no Mori Park the details of the Minami Uonuma Gourmet Marathon can be found on the following website: http://gurumara.com/    

IUJ Olympic was held

IUJ Olympics was held on May 30 – June 6. This is an annual event organized by GSO (Graduate School Organization). In total, 8 teams consisting of students, faculty and staff members played various games, such as Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Billiards, Soccer, Basketball and Dodgeball. After close games, “Genki falcon” team won the overall victory this year. The students who participated in the IUJ Olympics had a good relationship each other through the week while their busy study schedule.               

IUJ ULIS have signed a MoU

The International University of Japan (IUJ) and University of languages and International Studies- Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS) signed MoU on June 6th, 2015. President Nguyen Hoa and , Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy and 2 staff of ULIS visited IUJ, where the signing ceremony was held.   The president of ULIS, Ngyen Hoa, said “This MoU will be a really significant step towards fostering professor and student exchange . We have cooperated with The Center for Language Education and Research, at IUJ. We’re going to promote Japanese language education based on this MoU.” The president of IUJ, Shinichi kitaoka stated “We agreed the first overseas office will be established at ULIS. […]

Mr. Shoei Utsuda, Former Chairman of the Board of Directors at Mitsui & Co. Ltd., assumes the position of IUJ Chairman as of June 1, 2015. He succeeds Mr. Yotaro Kobayashi, who has served as Chairman of the University since May 2003. Mr. Shoei Utsuda served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mitsui & Co. Ltd. from October 1, 2002 to April 2009. He was the Chairman of Mitsui & Co. Ltd. since April 1, 2009 until April 2015.
