Iggy Receives his award in 2011Iggy Sisson (IR89) was again recognized in Singapore for his contribution as CFO at Del Monte!  He received the Best Investor Relations Award (Gold) in Singapore for Del Monte Pacific as the company's Chief Financial Officer. This Business Times article quotes him

April 2011

AFM Mohiuddin (IDP08) published an article on his views for Japan's recovery after the March 11 earthquake/tsunami devastation.

Myrta Kaulard (IR90) touched base with campus after the Earthquake/Tsunami disaster sharing that she has been working hard for the World Food Program in Haiti since the devastating earthquake there.  Here is an article with her on the crisis in Haiti from Oct. 2009.  Myrta was recently quoted on the Canadian International Development Agency. "WFP is very pleased with Canada's support for the school feeding program. Canada is one of the lead donors to the program in Haiti. Funding allocated to the WFP has enabled the school feeding program to provide more Haitian children with hot daily meals. At this school, and hundreds of other schools throughout Haiti, every child receives a nourishing daily meal. The WFP and its partners feed 1.1 million children every day."

Debajyoti Chakraborty (IM04) was recently published in Utility Week - UK's #1 utility industry journal. 
"It's about regulators asking for innovative ideas in the safety, asset management, financial management and industry outputs in the UK's energy sector and how distribution companies can respond.
I expressed my views on innovation opportunities in Corporate Finance and Asset Management."

Mr. Benjamin Pekaric(Class of 2007, MBA), is included in a Japanese monthly magazine:"USHIO" December 2010 edition . The article is "Zainichi gaikokujin ga mita 'Rakuen Nippon' (Foreign Residents in Japan sees Japan as Paradise)"

November 2010

Toru Iwasaki(Class of 1988) published a book about baseball in Myanmar. Title is 「ミャンマー裸足の球児たち」in Japanese and [Bearfoot Baseball Player in Myanmar].

Ankit Dhariwal (Class of 2010, MBA), was highlighted in the staffing brochure of Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. He joined Takeda this fall and is currently a member of Finance and Accounting Department.

 

 

 

Prof. Tomohito Shinoda(Class of 1986) was quoted in an article on the international politics in"Tokyo Shimbun" of November 5, 2010.
He also wrote an article in Japanese regarding Japan's basic defense program on Nikkei Business Online.

Serdar Basara published a job hunters guidebook in Japanese "How to Imagine your Future".

 

 

 

 


May 2010 

Iggy Sison Award Ignacio C. O. Sison, (IR89)  from the Philippines has received the Gold award for Best CFO in the mid-cap category at the 2010 Singapore Corporate Awards. Iggy  is the Chief Financial Officer at Del Monte Pacific, which won three awards at the annual Awards ceremony this year. This is the first time a Philippine-based company has been honored in the competitive, but merit-oriented environment of Singapore.  In 1999, Mr. Sison was involved in listing Del Monte Pacific on the Singapore Exchange as the first Philippine-based company, and in 2006 he became the company’s CFO as the first Filipino in its 80-year history.

M. Jashim Uddin (IR91) was given State of Illinois Humanitarian Award 2010 on May 2010. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White gave the Award in an official ceremony at State Building, Chicago. It was based on his 17 years excellent public service and volunteer social work in Chicago.

Takanobu Kamiya, (IR87) was featured in a photo exhibition entitled "Kono Yubi Tomare (or Land On My Finger)" held in Nagoya from May 18 (Tue) through 30 (Sun).

 

 

This exhibition is sponsored by Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. as a part of their "COP10 Partnership Project." Following COP10's motto, “Life in harmony, into the future,” Mr. Kamiya spent a year shooting photos of butterflies and other insects landing on his fingertip at the Nagoya Port Wildflower Garden of Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.

Roberto Shakano (IM05) was features in an article in The President in May edition.
