IDB Scholarship
This scholarship
program is established with funds provided by the Japanese Government to the
Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), to offer opportunities to individuals
from the Bankfs borrowing member countries to pursue graduate studies at
selected institutions.
The selected scholar must agree to
return to his/her country for at least two years upon completion of his/her
studies at IUJ in order to apply his/her enhanced knowledge and skills
toward helping accelerate the economic and social development of his/her
country.
IDB
considers only candidates who are officially recommended through IUJ by the
designated deadline in late February. Therefore, all who are eligible for the
IDB Scholarship are requested to submit a complete application to the graduate
school of their choice (GSIR or GSIM), by mid-February to meet the
recommendation deadline. (For GSIM, only applicants for the first intake can
meet the application deadline for the IDB Scholarship, while GSIR applicants
must make sure that they complete the necessary application process one or two
weeks earlier than the announced application deadline.) Only if and when applicants who have
passed the preliminary screening by the respective graduate schools will be
recommended to IDB for consideration.
IDB will contact each candidate directly regarding the subsequent
screening process.
