Basic Description – Single Dorms
IUJ boasts 300 private rooms for all our single students, with private baths, a bed and bedding, desk and phones. Other comforts and decorations are supplied by the students. Incoming student are guaranteed a dorm room on campus their first year without any request necessary. Room assignments will be made after incoming students are invited to give IUJ your preferences, and the address is informed to the student by email by late August.

Dormitory Facilities include large lounges for group gatherings, small lounges for study sessions or just relaxing. A Billiard room and large-screen TV are featured in one lounge. A TV with CNN and BBC connection and video player are featured in the other main lounge.

Each of the main dorms has a kitchen shared by its residents. Students are provided with a bit of storage space for dry goods and pots/pans, and share a refrigerator unit. Students are responsible for cleaning the kitchens after their use. The Dorm Kitchens are a wonderful international experience with interesting conversations adding extra spice to the variety of international dishes being prepared by diverse student body.

Basic Description – Married Student Apartments

Married students can participate in a lottery to live in our Married Student Apartments (MSA) which are two-room unfurnished units with a kitchenette and separate bedroom. MSA units are for officially married couples and are not meant for those with children. However, a few units each year are made available for those with non-school aged children (up to 2 children younger than 5). With only 18 units available, there is usually a waiting list to get in. Units are allocated in a lottery system when/if a unit becomes available. Instructions are given to those on campus and who have expressed interest,  about bringing their spouse (and children under special situations).  IUJ reserves the right to give priority for MSA units to special needs situations and to couples who are both IUJ students.

Lotteries are held in May for then-1st year students to move in in the following October. and in the first week of October for newly arriving students to move in in early November. That said, IUJ highly recommends to wait to bring family members until Spring of their first year.
